RAINY DAY INSPIRATION ON THE NORTHERN OREGON COAST
We have previous posts about this topic, as we often find ourselves in a rainy situation at the coast, but it's time to update the list.
First of all, storm watching, warming up with one of our robes by the fireplace, using a jetted tub (in all rooms at Inn at the Prom, and many rooms at Inn at Haystack Rcok) and drinking Sleepy Monk Coffee are all good places to start. If you need ideas to get you out exploring the town, here are some below.
Here is some rainy day inspiration (North to South):
Art Galleries: Lots of galleries to check out.
Bakeries & Coffee shops (There are so many to choose from, here are a few): Burly and the Bean, Rise & Grind PNW, Bagels by the Sea, Dough Dough Bakery...
Funland Arcade: Bumper cars, arcade games, food, and more.
Tax free shopping: Cute shops in town, but don't forget the outlets on Highway 101.
Seaside Aquarium: Feed the seals, check out the sea anemones and more. Did you know the water in their tanks is pumped from the Pacific Ocean?
Seaside Carousel: fun for all ages.
Times Theatre and Public House: They aren't currently showing movies, but they are showing sports games on their big movie screen.
Art galleries: a great way to enjoy local art and perhaps take some home with you!
Cannon Beach Book Company: come browse their selection. Open every day but Sunday.
Cannon Beach Chocolate Cafe: delicious truffles, amazing milkshakes, the best hot chocolate!
Cannon Beach Escape Room: great family/friends activity. Especially when you need an activity idea for the evening.
Coaster Theatre: such a lovely spot to watch a play.
Tax-free shopping: all shops are boutique (non-franchises)
Tillamook Cheese Factory: Fun spot for delicious dairy-filled food and to learn about how the co-op works. If you come on a weekday you can see the employees work in the factory.
Tillamook Air Museum: this is a fabulous museum for all ages. There is a small collection of cars and fire trucks as well as airplanes. Kids will love the blimp with aliens painted on the side.
